Rufus Goodwin
An outstanding post modernist poet and former newsman who was both a foreign and Vatican correspondent, Rufus Goodwin was educated at Yale and Georgetown Universities and is also a linguist. His book Give Us This Day / The Story of Prayer (Lindisfarne Press) is a contribution to the millennial spiritual life of modern day secular America. He recently published a novel in London, Valentine for a Waitress. Goodwin's poetry, pungent and heady, adds a strong new color to life. He splits his time between Boston, Rockport and New Haven where he recently introduced his translations of Eichendorf at a Goethe Institute seminar. Eichendorf was a highly favored lyricist of the great Lieder composers.
